Hi! I'm Mary Catherine but my friends call me MC. I'm an wedding videographer based in Atlanta, GA! Through Mary Catherine Films, I aim to give couples one of the greatest keepsakes they'll ever have- their love story captured the way they want. The power of video has captivated me since I was young. I remember watching my parents' wedding ceremony on VHS and thinking how special it was to have that moment in time immortalized forever.
I made silly youtube videos of my friends and me throughout middle & high school, learning to love visual storytelling more and more. That led to the decision to study video production in college and do two internships at summer camps filming & producing videos of the camp activities every day. Fastforward a couple years, I was managing a bridal shop and falling in love with the wedding industry. Meanwhile, I missed creating videos and wanted to get back in the game. Thus, Mary Catherine Films, LLC. was born.
The primary mission of my business is to tell stories that feel authentic to the couple and how they felt on their day. I love capturing candid moments between the couple and their loved ones, as well as all the major parts of the day. I don't do a lot of posing or directing because I want everyone's true personalities to shine through. My goal is to make everyone I'm filming feel comfortable and to contribute to the fun & warmth that a wedding day should be filled with. Though I have my own style of filmmaking I gravitate towards, I love experimenting with new ones and want each of my couples to have a say in the creative process. WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO
Weddings are glorious. Beautiful florals, delicious food, unexpected details, energetic dance floors.... I could go on & on. But the real magic lies is in the love that got us there. Finding someone to walk through the peaks and valleys of life with is the best feeling in the world. It feels surreal to finally arrive at the day you get to commit to that person forever and there are so many emotions involved. Getting to capture those feelings of giddiness, tenderness, gratitude, and joy is my favorite thing.
The wedding day happens in a flash and there are so many moments most couples don't remember or don't get to see. My priority is getting those moments on video for them to relive over & over. My favorite days are when I get to deliver the final video to my clients. Responses like "this is the best gift we've ever received" or "my entire family is sobbing" are music to my ears. I will never get over the fact that this is my job and am grateful to all my couples who make it possible!
